Countdown to Election Day
April 1, 2025
Dear Friends,
As a long-time resident of Calumet City and a proud product of District 149, I am deeply committed to the power of education in strengthening our community.
With over 25 years in Calumet City, I have strong roots here—as a former student, homeowner, and parent of two students currently enrolled in the district.
Professionally, I bring experience in administration, eight years in nursing, and a background in retail sales. These roles have given me valuable insight into building effective systems—an approach I aim to bring to the School Board.
I understand the dedication of our educators and the challenges in leadership. If elected, I will work to ensure educational excellence, responsible resource management, and the wise use of our tax dollars, always prioritizing our students’ needs.
My motto is: Thrive, Believe, and You Can Achieve. I am running for the School Board to contribute to a brighter future for our students, and I ask for your support in the April 2025 election.
Sincerely,
Alicia Burks
